Tuning

There are many aspects to tuning a motorcycle.

  • Tyres… it is not always obvious that the tyres are not the best ones for your bike and riding style. Some super-sticky tyres need an ambient temperature above 15 deg c to actually work. Likewise some tyres are biased towards high mileage and are not really suited to performance sports bikes. We can help you match the right tyre for your style and motorcycle.

  • Correct suspension set up for your riding. Tim has a talent for matching your weight and riding style to dial in the correct suspension settings for your motorcycle.  He will work with you to achieve the best settings for you. This starts at £50 for 3-dial ins. Normally this is achieved with adjusting the standard settings available on the front and rear. In some cases this could involve different fork springs or weight of oil, a different ride height of the rear shock or even a different shock. We are agents for Hyperpro, Hagon and other popular brands.

  • Performance exhaust. With most newer fuel injection bikes these are a simple add-on, the ECU mapping the fuel automatically. However on carburettor bikes this can involve larger jets, different emulsion tubes, we have access to most brands of exhaust direct from manufacturer or importer, including Lextek, and Delkavic.

  • Air filters. We would recommend you keep to standard filters. However, if you must have a non standard one, then a K&N filter is the way to go.  You can get yourself in a bit of a pickle removing an air box and replacing with pod filters. We would only do this on a few carburettor bikes we know it works on. 

  • Dynojet Power Commander kits are very popular and easy to fit. We only buy from Dynojet UK and all parts are fully warrantied (don’t buy off ebay). We have access to maps from Dynojet specific to your motorcycle build.

  • Cams: We are agents for Kent Cams and will happily supply whatever cams you require on an exchange basis. However we are getting into engine build territory and such, modifications have to be well thought out. You cannot just stick some lumpy cams in and expect it all to work. 

  • Brakes: From braided lines to sintered pads, from replacement calipers to upgraded disks. We can advise and supply. We have access to ”Billet” calipers, Hel Calipers and lines, Brembo , Goodrich and EBC all directly.
